Phibion’s AMC 40-day cycle turns wet tailings into in-situ dry stacking

Phibion is proud to announce our participation at the Tailings & Mine Waste Conference 2025 in Banff, Canada (Nov 2 – 5), where we will showcase our world-leading approach to sustainable tailings management.

For over a decade, Phibion has been redefining how the mining industry manages tailings. Through our patented Accelerated Mechanical Consolidation (AMC) service, delivered with our fleet of MudMasters® and DART autonomous platforms, we make tailings dams safer, smaller, and more sustainable. By maximising in-situ dewatering, consolidating deposits, and recovering water for reuse, AMC offers a proven, low-carbon, and cost-effective alternative to filtration or new dam construction.

Strengthening Our North American Presence tailings

2025 marks a significant milestone in Phibion’s growth journey. We have opened a new North American office to better serve our expanding operations across the region. With two new projects underway — one in copper and one in bauxite — Phibion is positioned to deliver transformative results for miners in the US and Canada.

This expansion demonstrates our commitment to supporting North American miners with scalable, innovative solutions that meet today’s regulatory, environmental, and ESG demands. It also underscores the growing recognition that AMC is not just a technology, but a service that delivers measurable operational and financial benefits.

Join Us in Banff

We invite all attendees of Tailings & Mine Waste 2025 to visit the Phibion booth #37 and learn more about how our solutions are changing the future of tailings management. Our team will be on hand to share case studies, the new real-time density sensor, discuss operational results, and demonstrate how AMC helps operators:

  • Recover more water for reuse in processing.

  • Extend the life of existing tailings storage facilities.

  • Reduce long-term closure liabilities.

  • Deliver safer and more sustainable outcomes.

With a strengthened presence in North America and growing partnerships worldwide, Phibion is paving the way for a new era in tailings management.

Showcasing Our Latest Research

At Tailings & Mine Waste Canada 2025, Phibion will also present our latest white paper, Optimising Tailings Management of Large TSFs with Implementation of Mechanical Consolidation and Dewatering. This research highlights how our AMC approach can enhance the efficiency and safety of large-scale tailings storage facilities. By combining in-situ dewatering with mechanical consolidation, the paper demonstrates measurable improvements in water recovery, storage capacity, and long-term stability, providing miners with actionable strategies for more sustainable and cost-effective tailings management.
