In just two years following the introduction of Phibion's AMC operation at Mt Weld, Western Australia, the mine reported:

  • 70% water recovery rate

  • 50% reduction in tailings volume

TAILINGS MANAGEMENT

Alumina

 

AMC is widely used in the alumina industry. Results from multiple operations have proven that Phibion AMC can deliver:

  • Shear strength >35 kPa in <42 days from deposition;

  • 50% reduction is TSF area; and

  • A tailings surface that can be safely accessed and contoured by conventional earthmoving equipment.

When applied to phosphate tailings these operations deliver:

  • Consolidation to very high density <35 days;

  • An increase in water recovery >16%; and

  • A tailings surface that can be safely accessed and contoured by conventional earthmoving equipment.
