Dredging

 

Dredged materials usually contain a high proportion of marine clays. As an unflocculated material with a low angle of repose it resists dewatering efforts. When applied to drudged materials AMC operations can deliver:

• Rapid consolidation to very high density within 7 – 12 weeks;

• Reduction in deposited volumes of up to 30%; and

• Sufficient strength such that subsequent hydraulic deposition of capping sands can be retained with no loss. Once capping is complete this sand can be recovered and re-used reducing costs and environmental footprint.
